Here’s what we’re looking for:
The PR & Social Media Intern plays a supportive role in managing media relations and social media campaigns.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Day-to-day environmental scanning and research
- Write press releases and media alerts
- Craft relevant pitches and story ideas
- Pitch to traditional and digital media
- Secure media placements
- Monitor and organize client placements
- Social media content creation
- Social media monitoring and management
- Assist with blogging
- Accompany clients at TV segments, interviews, photo shoots, etc.
- Write social media and public relations status reports
Requirements:
- Major in journalism, public relations or marketing
- Available at least 10-12 hours a week or to meet course requirements
- AP Style knowledge
- CisionPoint or Vocus experience preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be comfortable over the phone
